Case Example
Human food adulterated from insects cause yield loss to commodity producers, processors and storage operations, and brand reputation just to name a few.
One example of our successful impact was reviewing the supply chain for and international philanthropic food aid program. The year prior they had lost 11% and pests were a large part of this loss. After evaluation of their supply chain, we were able to improve their process to better protect exported product and now more hungry mouths will be filled.
In this event, we found poor fumigation practices throughout the supply chain as primary issue causing insect related losses. Too much reliance on a decades old self evolved processes had become ineffective. Program review like this on an annual cycle are needed. So much changes over time – improved safety, require regulation, and or better methods.
